Why Breathwork?

Physical and emotional states can be altered by changing the breathing pattern. ~Wilhem Reich

Breathe.

The average adult will breathe 12-16 times in one minute. That's 12 to 16 opportunities to nourish your cells with oxygen. Most of us don't even think about it until allergies, illness, or other factors inhibit our ability to breathe comfortably and effectively. We also don't think of the ways we can adapt our breathing to facilitate a healthier body or mind.

Do you ever pay attention to the way you consume oxygen? You may be selective about what you eat, but perhaps you didn't know that you can also be more deliberate and mindful of the way you breathe. Focused breathing can calm the mind and nourish the cells of the body.

With learned breathing techniques, you can enhance alertness or achieve a meditative mindframe. Measured, mindful breathing can also feel grounding during periods of anxiety. Imagine being able to readily calm yourself and alter your entire state of mind with just a few minutes of simple breathing exercises.
